Beyond Patient-Centered Care

I’ve just had a new article published in the Patient Experience Journal. The title of the article is: Carey, T. A. (2016). Beyond Patient-Centered Care: Enhancing the Patient Experience in Mental Health Services through Patient-Perspective Care. Patient Experience Journal, 3(2), 46-49. It’s a short position paper that argues that health professionals can be patient-centered but still make decisions about and for their patients. A move towards patient-perspective care would ensure that the patient’s perspective was the important factor in guiding treatment decisions.
