A free virtual conference titled “The Future of Mental Health” has been organised by Dr Eric Maisel. I’m one of 15 people who were interviewed for the conference which will be available from 23 to 27 February, 2015. In addition to my interview, there are interviews from people like Robert Whitaker, author of “Anatomy of an Epidemic: Magic bullets, psychiatric drugs, and the astonishing rise of mental illness in America”, and Joanna Moncrieff, psychiatrist and author of “The Myth of the Chemical Cure: A critique of psychiatric drug treatments”. The conference will provide a range of different ideas and perspectives about the problem with the way we currently conceptualise mental health problems and what some viable alternatives might be.
